Lockette says neck injury left him blessed

SEATTLE - Former Seahawk Ricardo Lockette is in town to be on our New Day Northwest show and at a big bash tomorrow night.

Ricardo Lockette was a special teams star for the Hawks until a neck injury ended his career.  He has since become an advocate for spinal cord research.

And while he may never play again, he considers himself blessed.

“I think that my injury changed me in great fashion. I think it made me appreciate the small things in life,” said Lockette. “It made me appreciate my family more. It made me appreciate the ability to run and hug my daughter, and the ability just to fix them breakfast. A lot of times, the injuries that I have, people are paralyzed or in a wheelchair for the rest of their life, so I'm definitely blessed.”

You can meet Ricardo tomorrow night! He'll be part of the 12th Lambo Christmas Bash Weekend! Blitz and Mrs. Claus will be there too!

It’s Friday night at 7 o'clock at the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club
